Cine Special - Guru of our Times ~ Mani Ratnam
With his latest offering GURU, the man has weaved yet another smooth screenplay. The movie bears almost all the familiar elements, which epitomize the genius craftsmanship of Mani Ratnam (MR). But strangely enough, there is a sense of dissatisfaction (at least, for this writer) as GURU draws to a close, a veritable anti-climax as it were, in its concluding scenes and to MR's repertoire ...
Director - I was the useless real life Veyyil brother! ~ VASANTHABALAN
Vasanthabalan became an overnight sensation with his direction of Veyyil. His touching narrative woven with much care and precision did not go unnoticed by an audience craving for good cinema. Critics and audience lapped it up and we now look forward to his next film to see if he can sustain the very high standards he has established for himself. His movie making style is very reminiscent of the earlier day Bharathiraja. To top it all of he had the temerity to cast someone like Pasupathy to play the protagonist.
Actress - Old men are heroes but ravishing Nadia is mom! ~ NADIA

Watching her in Thamirabharani recently I couldn't help but admire not just the way Nadia has retained her good looks but also the way she has maintained such a good figure! Once again, this elegant lady has managed to upstage the heroine in her movie. Remember her in M Kumaran where she looked just like Asin's big sis?
